RESOLUTION:
 

May this World Hindu Conference resolve to bring about a closer understanding between the Hindus an Buddhist of the World through dialogue.

RESOLUTION:
 

Whereas it is of Historical significance that for the first time all Hindu Organisations in Trinidad and Tobago came together to plan and chart this well organised and wonderful World Hindu Conference 2000 at such an opportune time when Hindu Dharma is facing vicious challenges on all sides world-wide.

 

Be it, therefore, resolved that these Organisations in Association with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad appoint urgently a working committee to continue working together for the furtherance of Hinduism and Hindu Dharma in Trinidad and Tobago.

Whereas the Government of Trinidad & Tobago is supporting the teaching of Hindi as a foreign language in our schools, be it resolved that the Caribbean Examination Council be mandated to prepare a suitable syllabus and examination, on the basis of which the subject will be taught and examined.

Provide answers to contemporary questions facing society with great scriptural Authority.

Be good overture

Have knowledge of other religions in depth, to explain comparison to young intelligent minds.

ESTABLISHMENT OF V.H.P

Whereas the V.H.P has become the voice of the Hindus of the world .

Whereas the V.H.P has had a presence in the Caribbean for some time now-

Be it resolved-that immediate steps be taken – to set up a Caribbean Chapter of this great Organisation.

Be it further resolved that the following of three persons:

1. Swami Akshanandji of Guyana

2. Swami Brahmadeoji Upadhya

3. Shri Raviji of Trinidad

They should serve as co-ordinators for this Project.

Be it resolved that this World Hind Conference 2000 do all which is necessary to establish Institutions and effective places of learning and teaching for the Comprehensive training of Teachers and Hindu missionaries who would go out and educate the World but more particularly Hindu children on the basic of Hinduism and Hindi Language.

RESOLUTION:
 

To request the swamiji’s assistance in providing Sanskrit teachers and Hindi teachers to the Caribbean instead of offering only four to five scholarships to India - Schools should be set up so that each country could be actively involved.

 

To set up pundit schools so that our country could have well trained pundits with the assistance of our Swamiji so that our pujas could be more informed.

Whereas our ancestors originated principally from the Hindi speaking regions of Bharat.

Whereas Hindi continue to have a significant presence in the Caribbean.

Be it resolved that every effort be made to cultivate Hindi as a conversational language among Caribbean Hindus.

Be it further resolved that effort be made to encourage our support for the work of organisation already engaged in the pronunciation of Hindi.

Be it further resolved that a special Caribbean Hindi Institute be set up for the pronunciation of Hindi in the region

Whereas other Hindu Communities in the world will be keen in sponsoring the World Hindu Conference

Be it resolved that a World Hind Conference Secretariat be set up to co-ordinate the activities of Conference as well as to ensure continuity and to provide all assistance in these efforts

Whereas there is a great need for the dissemination of a sound Hindu education in the Caribbean

Be it resolved that a Hindu Education secretariat be set up to plan and execute a program of Hindu education.

CXC EXAMINATION
 

Whereas the Caribbean Examination Council plans to introduce "Religious Education" in secondary schools and has already prepared or draft syllabus

Be it resolved that the Hindu Education Secretariat establish contact with the Caribbean Examination Councill to assist in the planning and delivery of the Hindu Component of the syllabus.
