Introduction

Maryada Purushottam Bhagwan Sri Rama, Bhagwan Sri Krishna and Shiva Shankar Mahadeva are the three Deities worshipped by the Hindus all over the world. They symbolise the Rule of Dharma and suppression of Adharma among the mankind, and epitomise our national aspiration of establishing Ramrajya.

With the attainment of Independence of India from the British Rule, coupled with Partition founded on the two-nation theory, we ought also to have declared Bharat a Hindu-Rashtra, but large hearted as we are we gave ourselves a secular Constitution, guaranteeing to all citizens the fullest freedom to practise and propagate their individual Faith. Even so the continued existence of certain mosque-like structures which had been raised by Muslims after destroying Hindu Temples, particularly those of Somnath, Kashi Vishwanath at Gyanvapi, Sri Krishna Janmasthan and Sri Rama Janma Bhumi was a matter of National shame and galling to the Hindu psyche. Fortunately, the restoration of the Somnath Temple was accomplished soon after Independence, but the attempts to restore Sri Rama Janma Bhumi were stalled.
