नई दिल्ली। जनवरी 7, 2026। राजधानी दिल्ली में जवाहर लाल नेहरू विश्व विद्यालय की पवित्रता को देश के प्रधानमंत्री और दूसरों को निशाना बनाने वाले भद्दे नारों से फिर से नष्ट किया गया है।
इस बार उकसावे की वजह दिल्ली दंगों के आरोपितों उमर खालिद और शरजील इमाम को ज़मानत न मिलना बताया गया। ध्यान देने वाली बात यह है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने पाया कि प्रॉसीक्यूशन के पास दोनों के खिलाफ दंगों में शामिल होने से जुड़े सीधे और पुष्टि करने वाले सबूत हैं। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दिल्ली में वर्ष 2020 में हिंदुओं पर हुए सुनियोजित हमलों के पीछे बड़े षड़्यंत्र से जुड़े अपराधों में उनकी "केंद्रीय और मुख्य भूमिका" पर भी ध्यान दिया।
उमर और शरजील पर भारत की एकता और क्षेत्रीय अखंडता के खिलाफ साज़िश रचने का आरोप है। यह जघन्य अपराध है। यह सभी के लिए उचित होगा कि वे ट्रायल का इंतज़ार करें, जहां आरोपितों को अपनी बेगुनाही साबित करने का मौका मिलेगा।
यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है कि मुट्ठी भर लोगों ने सब्र रखने की बजाय, आधी रात को जेएनयू कैंपस का माहौल खराब करने का दुस्साहस किया। यह शर्मनाक और कायरतापूर्ण है। यूनिवर्सिटी ने एफआईआर दर्ज कराई है। इसकी जांच होनी चाहिए और दोषियों को न्याय के कटघरे में लाया जाना चाहिए।
लोकतंत्र और अभिव्यक्ति की आज़ादी मनमानी करने का लाइसेंस नहीं देती। कब्र खोदने के नारे ऐसे अधिकारों का उल्लंघन हैं, अभद्र और आपराधिक हैं।
ये नारे देशवासियों को अंदरूनी खतरों की याद दिलाते हैं और यह याद दिलाते हैं कि हमेशा सतर्क रहना ही आज़ादी की कीमत है।

The sanctity of Jawahar Lal Nehru University has been again breached by crude slogans targeting the Prime Minister of the Country and others.
The provocation this time was the denial of bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam for Delhi Riots. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court found that the prosecution material comprises direct, corroborative and contemporaneous evidence against both of them. The Supreme Court also noticed their “central and formative role” in the offences relating to the larger conspiracy behind the 2020 planned attacks on Hindus in Delhi.
Umar and Sharjeel are accused of conspiring against the unity and territorial integrity of Bharat. This is a heinous crime. It would be appropriate for everyone to await the trial where the accused would have the chance to prove their claimed innocence.
It is unfortunate that a handful of persons, instead of patience showed the temerity of vitiating the atmosphere at J.N.U campus in the dead of night. This is shameful and cowardly. The University has filed an F.I.R. It should be investigated and the guilty ought to be brought for justice.
The Democracy and freedom of expression do not give a license to run amuck. The slogans of digging graves are a violation of such rights, indecent and criminal.
These slogans remind the countrymen of the threats within and to remember that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
